Savas “Rudy” Robles Hernandez of Pleasanton passed away August 15, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born March 20, 1930 in Fairview to Alejandro and Regina (Robles) Hernandez.
Rudy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he was a peanut farmer and rancher. In 1968 he moved back and opened Pleasanton Ornamental Iron Works and Auto Repair and also ran a cab service for many years.
Rudy is survived by his sons, Eugene Hernandez, Gary Hernandez, Douglas Hernandez and wife Sarah, Richard Hernandez, Kenneth Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez and David Hernandez; daughters, Maria Hernandez and Susan Hernandez and grandchildren, Karen Lee Collins and husband Mike, Lisa Stewart Kurtz and husband Michael, Brandon Keith Hernandez, Tiffani Dallas Hernandez, Bryce Kole Hernandez, Angela Phillippi, Lyda Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Jr., Regina Hernandez, Derrick Hernandez, Jessica Gonzalez, Taylor Tenberg, Elizabeth (Hernandez) Billings and husband Hayden, Christopher Hernandez and Caitlin Hernandez. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hernandez; parents, Alejandro and Regina Hernandez; brothers, Vidal Hernandez and Erasmo Hernandez; sisters, Maria R. Hernandez and Petra Hernandez and granddaughters, Susan Stewart Hograves and Angel Patricia Leann Stewart.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 2 - 8 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral service was also held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2 p.m., followed by interment at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Loire with military honors.
Serving as pallbearers for Rudy’s service were: Brandon Hernandez, Bryce Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Jr., Regina Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez and Jesse A. Rosales, IV. Honorary pallbearer was Richard Garcia.
